Frantage

I've had more emails and queries about this stuff in the past few weeks than anything else. What is it? Frantage is a very large grained embossing powder and I find the chunky white perfect for adding snow effects to Christmas cards.....

You don't need to add embossing ink, just stamp your image then sprinkle with Frantage where you want the snow, these trees were going to be cut out so stray bits on the paper didn't matter....

Then carefully hold the cardstock with tweezers and heat your image from
underneath - this stops the embossing grains flying off the image until it's melted.

Here's what I was making - a reprise of cards I made with these Hero Arts stamps last year, but I loved them, and didn't have time to design something new. I think they stand up to another outing, do you?

My commissioned magazine cards are coming along as predicted. One I am very pleased with. Two relegated to the wastebin. Hey ho, onwards and upwards....I need to get them done so that I can start sorting out some designs for the January workshop I am doing with Kath Stewart at Craftwork Cards in Leeds

See you tomorrow x

  4. Love your tree cards Enfys. I have used frontage but it didn't work out at all well. Now I know why - I heated from the top! Pat x

  5. Gorgeous cards! I LOVE Frantage, but right now only have the shabby pink... However, if you shuffle the pot *just so*, the colours seperate and you can very carefully fish out the white to use as snow! lol. x

  10. Love that snowy look. I haven't seen it around our area, but I'll keep looking. I would not have thought to heat emboss from the back side of the card! Thank you for the tip. BethAnn M>
