Christmas is coming - rather quickly.....

I had a mini panic today when I looked through my box of completed Christmas cards - I need more, many more....

First things first, I have cards for the grandchildren but needed a couple more and I thought this little snowman by Sparkle and Sprinkle would fit the bill....

Then I thought I would have to resort to a bit of mass production (something I never do), and found these brand new Hero Arts stamps from last year lurking. I don't know why I bought them really, they are solid rubber stamps with the design etched out, and I never have much success with that type of stamp. I pulled out Chipped sapphire distress ink and set to work. Honestly, I had to stamp it about ten times before I got a decent image, I don't quite know how those swirly bits got in the sky, but I quite like that, it gives a sense of movement. I dabbed the moon with Mustard Seed distress ink, and added some Frantage snow and a bit of glitter. There is no way I am faffing around mass producing this one, although I like the end result....

This one got the same treatment, again I found it hard to get an even impression, I do love the stamped image though.

So it's back to the drawing board tomorrow to find a design that I can mass produce quickly and easily. I need to get the cards to all my friends in the USA in the mail by next week, and that's what Christmas is all about in my book, keeping in touch with old friends and wishing them well for the festive season and next year

See you tomorrow x

  2. Love the cards Enfys.

Looking at the pile of stuff on my desk that needs to get finished I think I'm in major panic mode - someone obviously pinched most of November because I just don't know where the time has gone.

  5. Love your cards Enfys. I've still not quite mastered the skill of even stamping either, but I did buy a solid and wintery tree card that I still have to try. I'm afraid I will also need to resort to mass production when I return home from my holidays next week...

  8. Thanks for the laugh. Love the sentiment on the snowman card. Glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with those more ink than image type stamps. The black is never black enough. I always end up with not enough ink on the solid bits and too much in the detail. The good thing about distress ink is you can always spritz with water and give that classic waterstain effect, which hides a 1000 mistakes!! ROFL

  9. Love the cards En. I can see why you'd not mass produce them! But the snowman card, that's lovely. I used to have trouble with rubber stamps until I put a piece of foam under the card, and I have to stand up to get a good impression. Good luck to all with their production. Hugs, Jess

  13. I love your snowman card, and went to the Sparkle and Sprinkle website but could not find that snowman. Could you provide more information about the snowman, and the sentiment? Thank-you!
