All about Weather......

I must be feeling better, I sat down for a couple of hours and made some cards...including this one. I used a Silhouette background file called Raindrops for the background, the image is by Saturated Canary coloured with ProMarkers, and the sentiment is by Art Impressions

I added some acrylic rain splashes by Fiskars....

and talking of weather, the UK is feverishly preparing for some snow, we do this every year. Each winter we know that we will have one or two snowfalls, but when it's forecast, the whole country reacts as though we have been given warning of a nuclear fallout that will keep us housebound for three months. Today in the supermarket, the fresh vegetables had mostly disappeared, apart from a few sad carrots, people everywhere with huge stockpiles of food, all ready to sustain them through the long starvation days of a nuclear winter. The sad thing is that I keep looking through the window looking for those snowflakes, well, we got a few....

It is pretty cold though, -4C as I write this. Time for the thermals and a nice mug of hot chocolate I think

The winner of the Promarkers hasn't been in touch with me yet, if I don't hear from her, I will do another drawing and pick another name out next Monday

  4. Enfys,
This card is so cute. How did you make the holes in the background. Is this looking out your house. We were suppose to get snow but a few flakes. All around us got snow. I really would not mind some. Take some pictures of where you live and share with the bloggers. I would love to see some...

  5. It is snowing here as I write. We did take the precaution of doing things like shopping today rather than struggle with our hill tomorrow. The slightest hint of snow and it turns into a death slide. I know what you mean about panicking though. We coped with the months of snow in 1963, without gritters, or even the storage for food. We had to shop every day for some necessities. Sorry for my stropbox rant. Hope you have a good week. xx Maggie

  14. Love the card! That background is fabulous! But I am not buying another machine! lol I am so glad you're feeling better! Wow just a bit over 28 degrees! Not FLA weather for sure! Maybe it's too cold to snow? Or not enough moisture in the air? Well, anyway---Just stay inside and take care of you!

  19. So glad you are feeling better and I love the card and the raindrops are super. Is it wrong to be happy that there might be another chance to win the promarkers if the previous winner doesn't get in touch with you?

  20. So, So funny! I think snow is only relevant where you exist in the universe! You talk like you would love to see some snow...and all I want to see (if I have my winter picks in Northern Kentucky where I exist)is a very, very sunny day in a cold winter climate vs a very, very Bleak cold winter

  21. Beautiful card and I L-O-V-E the background. People do the same thing here in Tennessee, USA. They gather food like ther is no tomorrow. Snow I can handle. The problem is we get more ice than snow. Had just a bit of ice on Tuesday with cold temps and wind blowing some too. Supposed to be warmer this weekend.

  22. Love this Silhouette background file - TFS this great card. People are the same all over the world I guess. In North Carolina we have had rain for over 5 days and the temperature began to drop. There was supposed to be about 1-2" of snow over night. You couldn't get into a grocery store that wasn't totally crowded and all the bread and milk was gone within 3 hrs. I think they eat an awful lot of sandwiches and cereal during snow storms here. Needless to say, we had a slight bit of wet snow which overnight always turns to ice on the roads - but nary a snowman appeared on the lawns. We're all the same after all.

  28. Cute card! Love that background, that little machine sure does a great job doesn't it? So glad you are feeling better and are up and about.
Your talk about the weather makes me smile. I live near Buffalo, NY and we do get a fair amount of snow, but when a storm is forecasted people want to really stock up. Usually it's bread, milk and bottled water that run out quick here in the supermarket. No matter how used to the snow people are, they still act like they will not be able to get food for months.
