Card for a cool kid......

I finally got around to making a card with the image I coloured on one of my Promarker tutorial videos, and I must admit I quite like the finished card.
I used bazzill dotted kraft cardtock for the base, some random stripey paper, and the sentiment is handwritten.
Some Christmas musings.......
Why do I never learn from my mistakes? Every year, I spend a frustrating hour or two trying to untangle fairly lights so that they can be strung around the tree, muttering to myself that I will put them away tidily this year.........................................then, by the time the decorations are put away again, I am sick of looking at them, and hurl everything into the box in another untidy heap.............and so the cycle goes on
Why do people buy enough food at Christmas to feed the whole of the British army? The shops are only closed for a day for heavens sake.
What mischievous festive elf is responsible for the ten Christmas cards that arrive every year on Christmas eve from people I haven't sent a card to?
Why do I fret about what I am going to wear, as if it matters when all I am doing is spending time with my family, who frankly wouldn't care if I stayed in my PJ's all day.
Why is there some Christmas gremlin that decrees that you run out of wrapping paper when you have just one more little parcel to wrap? Ditto tags. Ditto cards. Ditto stamps
Does anyone else find Tiny Tim unbearably chirpy?
Time for the egg nog I think

  5. Oh Dear Enfys sounds as though you are fed up with all this build up even before it starts, you will be fine and everyting will go swimmingly. Have a wonderful time with the family, even if you are in your PJs with love and hugs Shirleyxx
PS even if you put the lights again wound round a piece of card they are still bound to get tangled because thats what they always do.

  10. Envys, We broke down and bought an artificial PRE-LIT Tree!! DH was done with the ball of lights. The thing is heavy as all get out but done in a snap! My delima is Santa hides presents in the crawl space of our house. My back is killing me!

  11. I love what you did with this card. Very cool!
Sorry, but I don't have answers to any of those questions. They are what Christmas legend is all about I think. Too bad you don't live near me, we have enough paper to last a very long time. When my son was getting it down from the attic, I told him to give me some new ones, he just looked at me and laughed "Mom, which ones do you want? There are about 50 new rolls up here." The thing is that my hubby is a recovering paperholic, he used to go out the day after Christmas and buy tons of paper. We have all that paper and I bet it's been 5 years since he bought any, so you can imagine what we did have. LOL!
Have a merry and blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!
I hope that snow has let up and you can get to where ever you need to go!

  13. I love that card and I am very anxious to have some time to try my hand at coloring. I too can relate to most everything you say. However, I solved the issue with the lights by buying a fake tree and the lights stay attached. One less headache every season.
Hope you have a very merry Christmas and we know whatever you wear you will be beautiful.

  14. Love the card, Enfys. As for the rest, I think it must be part of the "rule" for Christmas! I forgot did you mention running out of tape when you need just one last little piece? Every use red liner tape to tape up an Xmas present?! Let me tell you that one took some effort to get into! Hey it was all I had! I was a desperate woman!
Enjoy. I'm sure you'll look fetching in your PJ's!

  16. I am new to your blog - only been around a couple of months and I really love the laid back feeling. Down to earth, everyday person, just as I am. Love God, family, friends, crafting. Love your creations, too! Looking forward to seeing more of what you do next year.

Merry Christmas and wishing you a wonderful and Happy New Year!

    Blessings, Donna

PS My hubby and I are celebrating together, no grandchildren til next week, so it IS a jammy holiday for us and it feels so good to not worry about what to wear! Cooking simply and nontraditional - a lasagna!

    My best to you all!
