Vintage for Polkadoodles

I totally forgot to post my card for Polkadoodles last Friday, with all the blog candy stuff going on. Here it is - the theme this week is
Vintage
I used the gorgeous little girl stamp, I think she has a very retro look to her. The rest of the card was kept quite plain, with no pattern paper, just a cuttlebug panel, lots of sepia inking, and a crushed velvet ribbon, tied with brown gingham, and a couple of sepia leaf shaped beads......
I stamped her onto watercolour paper, and coloured her with aquamarkers
Here's a new photo of two of my little darlings, Kiki and Monty, taken when they visited me at home last week.

and here is the only photo I took of the Lake District, Lake Windermere, taken from the car, I was all geared up to take some fantastic shots to show you, took this one, and up popped the message on my camera screen
Battery exhausted
Battery exhausted? It had nothing on me I can tell you.......................................
The Lakes are all about outstanding natural beauty, walking and hiking. I have been there many many times, why then did I decide that the only shoes to take with me were a pair of flip flops and a comfortable pair of silver leather flatties, (well, I thought they were comfortable, but of course, they had only been put to the test walking around John Lewis and Marks and Spencer prior to their little jaunt to the Lakes - American readers, think Macy's and Target). So there I was, strolling around the villages in these ridiculous shoes, with everyone else stomping around looking comfortable and appropriate in their walking boots and essential gnarled walking sticks, hand carved from a piece of ancient oak.
Luckily Anne and I didn't plan to do any fell walking, if we had, I would probably be the first person in history to do so in silver leather........ why do I sometimes get it so very wrong?
I had a wonderful time though, silly shoes or not - thank you Anne x

  20. A gorgeous card, En. Glad you had a great time in The Lakes and what does it matter if you had different shoes!!!
I know exactly how you feel. I didn't think we needed sweaters going on holidays up in the mountains of Austria as last year we had fantastic weather. Arriving this year to temperaturs of 14o I wanted to get on the plane and nip back for a whole change of clothing. Luckily it did warm up after a few days!!
Thank you for sharing that beautiful photo of your Grandchildren.
    Hugs Lisax
