Totally Taupe

This card is for this week's challenge on 2sketches4you - a fantastic challenge site started by my BBTB design team buddies Kazan and Laura. I have wanted to make a totally neutral card for a while - the idea intrigued me, not all white, just neutral. I used paper by Martha Stewart and kept resisting the temptation to add brown to the mix. Lots of white stitching and a sprinkle of glitter - I used a quickie glue pen and my best glitter (sparkling ice by Great Impressions). The sparkly glitter doesn't show up in the photo of course, but It's really delicate looking in real life. A big taupe twill bow, ribbon also by Martha, and I am done. I really like the effect, it's cool, elegant and........well, neutral. What do you think?

  46. This is a most beautiful & elegant card. I made a wedding card this weekend in pale blues. I thought it still needed some little touch and this card popped back into my mind. I love the stitching technique you used. Can you tell me how you did this? It looks like you did it on a machine but it looks more like a feather stitch and not a zig zag stitch. Could you give me some kind of instructions on the type of stitch you used and how you did it? Thanks for sharing your talents!
